In recent years, from the establishment of national standards to special subsidies, the field of bio-light supplementation technology has formed a multi-level and comprehensive policy support system, injecting strong momentum into the industry's development.
At the standards and specifications level, the three national standards released in 2024 established a complete chain of specifications for bio-lighting technology, covering "basic terminology, product performance, and application scenarios." This resolved long-standing issues in the industry such as inconsistent terminology, varying product quality, and a lack of application standards, providing a unified basis for technology research and development, product manufacturing, and market application. In line with international standards, Beijing Electric Light Source Research Institute Co., Ltd., as a core unit, promoted the development of international standards for plant lighting by international organizations such as IEC/TC 34 and CIE, laying the foundation for the internationalization of domestic bio-lighting technology.
In terms of industry support, the national "two new" policy has been expanded to include the upgrading and transformation of facility agriculture, and investment subsidies have been provided for upgrading the supplementary lighting systems of old greenhouses and sheds. The facility vegetable industry cluster project supported by the central government has also listed the construction of intelligent facilities and equipment as a key point, which indirectly promotes the application of biological supplementary lighting technology.
Local subsidy policies are more targeted. Subsidy policies in places like Dalian Jinpu New Area and Liaoning Province include supplementary lighting systems in the subsidy catalog, reducing application costs through financial support.
In terms of development guidance, the "National Modern Facility Agriculture Construction Plan (2023-2030)" clearly defines the core direction of facility agriculture towards intelligent and precise development. As a key to precise environmental regulation, the technological innovation and application of biological supplemental lighting technology will directly promote the improvement of agricultural production efficiency and resource conservation.
The continued support of policies has not only provided a clear development path for companies researching and developing biological supplemental lighting technology, but also provided strong support for the large-scale application of the technology in scenarios such as plant factories and greenhouse cultivation.
