In 2025, bio-supplementary lighting technology will enter a new stage of standardized development, driven by three key national standards. The three standards—"Terminology for Plant Lighting" (GB/T 44941-2024), "Performance Specifications for LED Lamps, LED Fixtures and LED Modules for Plant Lighting" (GB/T 44473-2024), and "Technical Specifications for Lighting Environment in Artificial Light Plant Factories" (GB/T 45177-2024)—issued by the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Standardization Administration of China, fill gaps in industry standards. These three standards, implemented under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee on Standardization of Lighting Appliances, are a strategic measure in response to the "National Standardization Development Outline" regarding the promotion of standardization in smart agriculture, marking a significant breakthrough in the technical standardization of the bio-supplementary lighting industry.
The "Terminology for Plant Lighting" was implemented on November 28, 2024, providing a unified benchmark for industry standardization communication; the "Performance Specifications for LED Lamps, LED Fixtures and LED Modules for Plant Lighting" will be implemented on June 1, 2025, covering core applications such as plant factories and greenhouses, and standardizing core indicators such as product identification, electrical parameters, and light radiation parameters; the "Technical Specifications for Light Environment of Artificial Light Plant Factories" will be implemented on July 1, 2025, focusing on the design of light environment in plant factories and providing precise technical requirements for the industry.
These three standards comprehensively construct a standardized system for bio-light enhancement technology, covering terminology, performance, and application scenarios. They provide clear guidance for enterprise product development and system design, while effectively protecting industry interests and promoting the high-quality development of the bio-light enhancement industry towards specialization and standardization.
